An introduction to the academic study of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex histories, experiences, and cultures.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Critically analyze claims, arguments, artifacts, or information.

  • Construct coherent, evidence-based arguments.

Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program Learning Outcomes

  • Analyze the mutual constitution of gender, race, ethnicity, class, sexuality, nationality, and religion. (WGS SLO 4)

  • Complete 70% of reading engagement/reflections

  • No more than 2 discussion forums incomplete

D

  • Pass: Final synthesis assessment or Source Analysis

  • Pass all but two Unit Assessments

  • Complete 60% of reading engagement/reflections

  • No more than 3 discussion forums incomplete

Complete less than required to earn a D.
