An interdisciplinary introduction to frameworks and approaches in the field of women's, gender and sexuality studies.

  • Critically analyze claims, arguments, artifacts, or information.

  • Construct coherent, evidence-based arguments.

Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program Learning Outcomes

  • Explain how gender is produced within social institutions and how these institutions affect individual lives. (WGS SLO 1)

  • Analyze the mutual constitution of gender, race, ethnicity, class, sexuality, nationality, and religion. (WGS SLO 4)

To earn a grade, you need to complete all the requirements for that grade. Plus and minus grades will be determined based on how close to the next higher or lower grade.

  • Complete on 90% of Class Prep assignments -

  • No more than 4 absences: In-class participation/attendance

  • Complete 80% of Class Prep assignments

  • No more than 5 absences: In-class participation/attendance

B

  • Pass: Final synthesis assessment/project

  • No more than 6 absences: In-class participation/attendance

C

  • Pass: Final synthesis assessment/project

Complete less than required to earn a D.

Attendance/Participation:

Attendance and participation are expected. Students can have four absences with no effect to their grade.
