Course Description
An introduction to the technical skills associated with the construction and styling of wigs, and to further develop the skills taught as part of THR 147 Stagecrafts. Prerequisite: THR 147/THR 147L or permission of instructor.

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:
Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
Demonstrate intermediate level styling and application techniques most commonly used in live performance and media
Interpret costume, hair and makeup designs and translate them in a physical representation of a designer’s creative vision
Engage in solution-based discussions with both designers and performers regarding hair equity and personal versus character identities
Identify the most effective tools and products for accomplishing hair and makeup related design elements
Create historically accurate hair and makeup stylings based on appropriate research and character analysis

Attendance/Participation:
You have 3 excused absences. No questions asked, no excuses needed. Once you miss more than your allotted 3 classes, your grade may be dropped one full letter grade. If your attendance drops below 70% by Midterm, you may be withdrawn from the class with a WF (withdraw fail). I encourage you to meet with me before you are withdrawn from the class. If your attendance is still below 70% by the end of the semester, that is grounds for an automatic F. If you will have difficulty meeting these standards, please contact me, the Dean of Students Office and/or OARS to help you set up academic accommodations.
Late attendance will be counted as 50% of an absence.
