Enhance the student's familiarity with the process and equipment used in modern theatre production. Prerequisite: THR 146/THR 146L or permission of instructor.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Students will be able to identify lighting systems and networks.
- Students will be able to identify various fixtures and hardware.
- Students will be able to solve basic software issues in lighting systems, networks, and various pieces of hardware.
- Students will have a working knowledge of lighting systems, networks, and various pieces of hardware.

Attendance/Participation:
Class attendance is required to best achieve the student learning objectives of this course. This course is very hands-on and if you miss class you miss the best learning opportunities.
If you miss more than one scheduled class, your grade will be reduced by one letter grade for every additional absence. Three late arrivals equal one absence for grading.
If you must be absent for health reasons (documented by a medical professional), to attend a mandatory department-related activity, death of a family member, fulfill religious obligations, care for a dependent, or to work to feed your family or pay your tuition, you must inform the instructor before the absence, or it will count as your unexcused absence.
Class participation will be graded according to the following rubric:
- The student regularly attends on time.
- The student regularly contributes or actively listens during class discussions.
- The student participates in hands-on activities.
- The student demonstrates a positive attitude and respectfully conducts themself during class sessions.
Extra Credit: Attending School of Theatre productions can increase your overall grade by up to 4 percentage points.
