Course Description
Students will work in the scenery studio for School of Theatre productions, providing opportunities for practical experiences in the construction and painting of theatrical scenery. Prerequisite: Concurrent enrollment in THR 140 or previous credit for THR 140; DRAM major or School of Theatre minor or permission of instructor.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Students will learn what is involved in building and installing the scenery for stage productions.
- Students will develop knowledge and understanding of the variety of tools and materials used to build scenery for theatrical productions.

Attendance/Participation:
Attendance: Lab will start on Tuesday, August 17 and end on Friday, November 20. You are expected to attend Lab on the day for which you are registered, from 2-5:30 pm.
Lab Hours: If you need to miss a day, this can be made-up. The makeup day must be scheduled with Tannis Boyajian.
The last day to make up a missed Lab session during the lab-hours part of Stagecraft: Scenery Lab is Friday, November 13. Monday, November 23 and Tuesday, November 24 are also available as make-up days.
You do not need to make up the days missed to school breaks (Labor Day & Fall Break) as these days have already been factored into the required number of lab-hours.
Slotted Box Project: You are expected to complete the project on your regular Lab day.
If you are aware of a conflict for your regular Lab day on the day of the project, you must make prior arrangements to attend on a different day.
Prior arrangements mean speaking/emailing Tannis at least 24 hours before the project day.
If you miss your project day without prior notification, you can make-up the project, however your project grade will be reduced one letter grade (10 points).
The only make-up days for a missed project are either Monday, November 30 or Tuesday, December 1.
If you arrive more than 15 minutes late on the day of the project (meaning you have missed the instructions and setup), you will need to reschedule the project for a one of the make-up days. Your project grade will be reduced by one letter grade (10 points).
