Overview of mixed methods research including its history, current literature, and typology. Topics include research design, data collection, data analysis, validity, and proposed writing for a mixed methods study.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
Evaluate and critique articles that employ mixed methods research design;
Apply understandings of mixed methods design, data collection, data analysis, and interpretation approaches in discipline-specific research projects;
Engage in scholarly collaborations and peer evaluations.

This course provides valuable interactive experiences, so attendance and participation are extremely important. Students are expected to attend class and be on time.
Late work will be accepted with a credit deduction—unless prior arrangement has been made with the instructor or a legitimate documented emergency arises.
