Course Description

Definitions and content of theories of development and learning. Enrollment is limited to students who are pursuing initial teacher licensure. Prerequisite: Admission to the Teacher Education Program.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Explain foundational theories for child and adolescent development and make implications to their teaching practice.
  • Compare variations in learning theories and apply them to their teaching practice.
  • Understand the implications of development and learning for instructional planning and begin to apply this information to instructional planning and assessment.
