Course Description

Topics vary according to interest and demand. Intended to help prepare for the P/1, FM/2, or MLC exam. Prerequisite: STA 631 or STA 687 or permission of instructor; Notes: May be repeated when topic varies, grading method is Pass/Not Pass (P/NP).

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • master the fundamental concepts and theories for a specific targeted exam.
  • evaluate and identify various problem-solving strategies and reasoning skills in solving the actuarial problems.
  • develop real time test-taking strategies that help prepare for the actuarial exam.
  • derive the fundamental theories and properties related to a specific targeted exam.
