Course Description
Designed for teacher licensure candidates; students who successfully complete SPA 121 will be able to communicate with Spanish-speaking students and their families at a basic conversational level. Prerequisite: Junior or senior standing in the Teacher Education Program; Notes: Equivalent to SPA 101; students may not receive credit for both SPA 101 and SPA 121. Students with previous knowledge of Spanish are required to take the placement test. Students who are native or heritage speakers of Spanish MUST obtain permission from the instructor before enrolling in the course. No academic credit will be given without department permission if students have already earned credit for an equivalent or higher-level course or have been placed into a higher-level course.
