Interaction between peoples of differing racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, with comparison of American relationships to those in other parts of the world.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Based on empirical information, describe, or explain individual behavior or social conditions, contexts, or institutions
- Using the theories of the social and behavioral sciences, analyze individual behavior or social conditions, contexts of institutions
- Present a more informed understanding of race and racial and ethnic issues in America.
- Interpret, analyze, and evaluate writing and discourse related to race and ethnic relations.
- Critically interrogate race and ethnic relations in terms of both their academic and non-academic lives.
- Identify/demonstrate knowledge of basic principles of race and ethnic relations in the US.
