Course Description

Sociological consideration of crime causation, patterns of crime, and responses to crime and other socially defined forms of deviance. Prerequisite: SOC 222.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Understand the definition and categories of crime.
  • Know major criminological theories.
  • Contrast and apply criminological theories and concepts to explain different forms of crime.
