Course Description
Provides graduate students with opportunities to explore current issues and trends in special education within the broader context of education, society, and history. Prerequisite: Admission to P.M.C. in Instructional Coaching and/or Ph.D. in Special Education or permission of instructor.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Describe the historical and philosophical roots of current issues and trends in the field of special education.
- Critique the arguments of extant literature orally and in writing related to current issues and trends in the field of special education.
- Synthesize literature related to the current issues and trends orally and in writing in the field of special education.
