Intermediate Psychological Statistics

Course Description

Second course in psychological statistics recommended for students planning to attend graduate school. Includes basic probability, ANOVA, correlation and regression. Prerequisite: Minimum grade of B- in PSY 211; PSYC major.

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Understand statistical methods for the behavioral sciences at a conceptual level (e.g., which method is appropriate depending on the research question, and why?)
  • Learn how to apply these methods (e.g., solve equations by hand, or use appropriate computer software)
  • Be able to report and describe/interpret the results of these methods in the context of psychology research
