Course Description
Exploration of gender identity, gender roles, and biological sex and their relationships with psychological processes and behavior. Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C- in PSY 121.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Define the major terms and describe the major concepts and theoretical issues in the contemporary study of gender in psychology.
- Identify the major theories and theorists involved in the psychological science of gender.
- Analyze and evaluate complex contemporary issues involved in the research on gender differences and similarities.
- Demonstrate effective and respectful communication of an informed perspective on gender issues through written assignments and class discussions.
- Apply knowledge of gender role socialization research to current headline events.
