Course Description

Survey of scientific theories and research in cognitive psychology. Topics include human learning, attention, memory, and problem solving. Prerequisite: Grade of at least a C- in PSY 121

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Students identify key concepts, theories, and empirical findings in cognitive psychology across the domains of perception, attention, memory, imagery, language, reasoning, problem solving, and cognitive development.
  • Students explain key concepts and empirical findings in cognitive psychology in clear, organized academic writing.
  • Students apply concepts from cognitive psychology to real-world examples drawn from everyday life, current events, and media sources.
