Course Description
Provides a roadmap for how students can succeed in college courses and prepare for a career in psychology or allied disciplines with a bachelor's degree, including how to prepare for graduate education, if desired. Prerequisite: Concurrent enrollment in PSY 121 or previous credit for PSY 121.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
Demonstrate knowledge of campus resources, professional etiquette, graduation requirements, and psychology career options.
Create a plan for college that connects to their desired career options.
Acquire and apply evidence-based note-taking, test-taking, and study techniques.
Identify the various negative cognitions related to academic success and work to challenge such cognitions in themselves.
Report higher levels of self-efficacy and positive attitudes towards their college journeys.
Apply basic mental health self-care techniques in times of stress.

Attendance/Participation:
There is no official attendance policy in this course. However, poor attendance will negatively affect student grades due to missed in-class activities. There are 15 activities in total, and the three lowest scores (e.g., missed activities) are dropped from the final grade. Missing four or more activities will negatively impact the final grade. No make-up activities will be provided unless there is an extenuating circumstance and appropriate documentation is provided.
