Course Description

Arguments concerning God's existence, the problem of evil, God's foreknowledge and human freedom, the analysis of divine attributes, immortality, and the soul.

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Identify different conceptions of the divine.
  • Identify the great-making attributes of God.
  • Understand, analyze and effectively critique philosophical arguments concerning the coherence or intelligibility of these great-making attribute, taken individually, and in combination.
  • Understand, analyze, and effectively critique arguments or reasons put forward to prove or confirm, or disprove or disconfirm, the existence of God.
