Course Description
This course is an introduction to philosophy through consideration of theories about what makes a life a good one, and the relation between one’s own well-being and the well-being of others.

Attendance/Participation:
Attendance will be taken and is required. After 3 unexcused absences, students will lose 2 points per unexcused absence. This is out of a total of 100 points for the course.
For an absence to be excused a student must provide me with independent written/emailed documentation within a week of returning to class.
I am much more likely to excuse an absence if I know about it ahead of time, so if you think you might have to be absent, please contact me as soon as you can.
