Course Description

This course explores the complexity of engaging local and global peace and conflict practice (macro-level process) that enhances the building and nurturing of civic society in the 21st century.

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Develop an understanding of peacebuilding from local to global levels.
  • Compare and contrast different approaches to peacebuilding and evaluate their application to different contexts.
  • Explain the interrelationships among sustainability, environmental justice, and peacebuilding.
  • Apply an interdisciplinary perspective that incorporates key elements of peacebuilding, justice, and sustainability.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of sustainable development and its relationship to peace and justice.
