Course Description

Advanced primary care practicum emphasizing the ability to manage acute and chronic complex health conditions of adults demonstrating advanced critical decision making skills and integration of DNP essentials into advanced practice. Prerequisite: NUR 812, NUR 813. Corequisite: NUR 816L.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Demonstrate care management through case studies which show timely, safe, and effective decision-making and priority setting.
  • Employ effective professional leadership skills in professional organizations, community engagement, cross-agency care coordination, and population-based impact evaluation.
  • Narrate a comprehensive case history reflecting evidence-based practice and quality improvement.
  • Analyze evidence-based practice and ethical decision making based on case studies or clinical practice.
