Course Description
Students will increase knowledge and decision-making skills in the primary care treatment across the lifespan of vulnerable and complex patients. Course includes laboratory interpretation. Prerequisite: NUR 811, NUR 811L; Corequisite: NUR 812, NUR 812L.

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:
Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Identify norms and variations in the populations across the lifespan and determine their significance for the wellbeing of the vulnerable and complex patient.
- Discuss comprehensive assessment for the complex patient.
- Synthesize advanced knowledge, ethics, cultural awareness, and healthcare technologies in the provision of care through a Social Determinants of Health lens.
- Create management plans for selected acute and chronic illnesses in the complex patient across the lifespan.
- Interpret exam and lab/diagnostic test findings in the management of acute and chronic illnesses in the complex patient across the lifespan.
- Apply health maintenance and management of the complex patient.
- Discuss the process of clinical reasoning and pattern recognition in the development of a differential diagnosis in complex patient.
- Recognize the importance of incorporating cultural humility in NP practice.
- Appropriately document evidence-based management plans, including billing and coding standards.

Attendance in an asynchronous course is demonstrated through active engagement, which includes reviewing course content, completing assigned readings and learning activities, participating in required discussion boards, and submitting assignments, quizzes, and examinations by their respective due dates.
