Course Description
Integrates psychotherapy theories and practical application, preparing students to deliver effective care across the lifespan. Students explore cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, humanistic, and integrative approaches, focusing on assessment, therapeutic relationships, and treatment planning. Emphasis is on therapy stages and evidence-based interventions for individuals and groups, applying theoretical and therapeutic approaches. Corequisite: NUR 676, NUR 677.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Synthesize select psychotherapy theories to design comprehensive, evidence-based care that integrates biophysical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual aspects for diverse clients across the lifespan.
- Evaluate the therapeutic processes such as cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, humanistic, and integrative approaches to improve client outcomes
- Demonstrate the ability to adjust interventions based on client progress and needs.
- Implement ethical and effective psychotherapeutic practices in clinical settings.

Attendance/Participation:
In an asynchronous course, students are expected to identify and commit to specific times within each 7-day week to complete required activities and assignments. A student will be considered absent if they fail to participate in assignments that involve peer interaction, such as discussion board posts or group projects, or if assignments are submitted late. Late submissions may also result in a reduction in the assignment grade.
