Synthesis of Nursing Concepts

Course Description

Cumulative integration of concepts learned throughout the curriculum. Emphasis placed on analysis of critical thinking skills and synthesis of clinical decision-making. Also includes preparation for NCLEX-RN. Prerequisite: Admission to M.S.N. Prelicensure Entry-Level Concentration, NUR 510, NUR 510L, NUR 618, NUR 618L, NUR 705; Corequisite: NUR 609, NUR 621.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Integrate major nursing concepts into the planning of safe high-quality nursing care.
  • Develop critical thinking in nursing process, communication, delegation, and prioritization.
  • Integrate cultural, ethnic, social, and spiritual diversity concepts in making clinical judgements for nursing care of clients across the lifespan.
  • Design an individualized plan for NCLEX-RN success.
