Course Description

Clinical application of theories, concepts, and research related to collaborative interprofessional education (IPE) across healthcare disciplines. Prerequisite: NUR 380; NURS major.

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Develop awareness of the diversity of expertise that underpins effective interprofessional collaborative teams.
  • Identify basic concepts of effective teamwork among professionals with an emphasis on communication and teamwork.
  • Demonstrate the ability to interact with members of other healthcare disciplines.
  • Evaluate the role of interdisciplinary teams in the context of the organization, the future of health care delivery systems, and patient outcomes.
