Pathophysiology and Pharmacology for Nursing II

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

• Examine pathophysiologic changes at the cellular level and their relation to disease processes across the lifespan.
• Analyze pharmacological actions of drugs as they relate to pathophysiologic disease processes.
• Examine pharmacological therapies in the prevention and management of disease processes.
• Identify concepts of medication safety and pharmacological effects on integrated body systems.
• Describe protective and predictive factors, including genetic and cultural influences, and their effects on the health of individuals, communities, and populations.
• Discuss appropriate interventions from nursing and other interprofessional disciplines in the treatment of specific disease processes.
