Course Description
Practicum for nursing care and health promotion of infants, children, and adolescents with acute and chronic illness, special health care needs, and those receiving well child care. Prerequisite: NURS major; Corequisite: NUR 340; Notes: Students must provide own transportation to practicum experiences.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
Apply principles of health promotion and child development in the care of children in a variety of settings.
Prioritize nursing care for children and their families.
Provide safe, cost-effective nursing care in collaboration with members of the health care team.
Examine the integration of evidence-based practice, quality improvement and clinical standards into the nursing care of children and families.
