Philosophy, principles, methods, and materials involved in nutrition education. Emphasis on development of nutrition education curriculum and programs in school and community. Prerequisite: NTR 550 or equivalent or permission of instructor.

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:
Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Defend the importance and effectiveness of nutrition education in dietary behavior modification.
- Examine scientific literature to identify determinants of dietary behaviors among diverse audiences and develop a conceptual model to explain the interconnectedness of these determinants.
- Critically evaluate the use of behavioral change theories in the development of nutrition education interventions.
- Develop and implement a theoretically based nutrition education session for a diverse audience.

Attendance/Participation:
Students are required to attend every class and participate in all class discussions. Attendance and participation are graded.
It is expected that all students will attend all presentations (mock and interventions). Students missing any presentation will lose a full letter grade on their final course grade.
