Course Description
An interdisciplinary course utilizing variety of academic disciplines (chemistry, physics, biology). Addresses the impact of nanomaterials through the range of organization that exists within living systems (molecular to societal).

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Analyze the safety implications of nanomaterials across their complete lifecycle from manufacture to disposal.
- Evaluate environmental impacts and fate of nanomaterials in various biological and ecological systems.
- Critically assess ethical considerations and regulatory frameworks governing nanotechnology applications.
- Synthesize information from primary literature to develop evidence-based positions on emerging nanosafety issues.
- Design risk assessment protocols for nanomaterial applications in real-world scenarios.
- Communicate nanosafety findings through written reports and oral presentations to technical audiences.
