Course Description
The course will introduce students to the people and resources in the community, on campus, and within the CVPA and School of Music that can assist them in developing the general academic and musicianship skills needed to be successful as they consider their individual interests in music. Prerequisite: The course is for new students only. Must have fewer than 60 credits to enroll or can enroll by Written Permission.

Attendance/Participation:
You are expected to attend each class period. You are permitted three absences for any reason. Two instances of tardiness are equal to one absence. Everyone will begin the semester with an ‘A’ grade for ‘Attendance.’ Each absence beyond three will result in a full letter grade reduction for the ‘Attendance’ portion of your grade. Further, you will receive a 50% for any grade-earning activity that occurs in class on the day you miss (i.e., Guest speaker synopsis, etc.). Being absent (or the equivalent) for 10 or more class periods will result in a failing grade for the course. Extended illnesses or unusual circumstances must be discussed with the instructor and will be given separate consideration.
