Course Description
Basic concepts and techniques of audio recording, including microphones, microphone placement, recording techniques, editing and mixing. Final project is a professional-level recording of a small ensemble or band.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Students will demonstrate basic understanding of microphones and salient equipment
- Students will demonstrate understanding of acoustics and how they apply to audio recording
- Students will practice audio recording in stages from single miking, stereo arrays, and multi-track settings
- Students will understand basic principles of mixing audio they have recorded
