Course Description

A workshop class where pedagogy of the performance medium is discussed and works of musical literature are performed, coached, and discussed. Corequisite: Enrollment in Performance Studies Instruction; Notes: Course may be repeated for credit.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Demonstrate skills in performance/audition preparation and artistic self-expression at a level appropriate for the particular music concentration.
  • Apply pedagogical concepts in the performance medium.
  • Offer, receive, and/or respond to feedback.
  • Express artistic/intellectual goals of their performances based on contextual knowledge, knowledge of self, and understanding of their intended audience.
