Recital: Senior Recital: Organ

Course Description

Performance of a faculty approved repertoire selection of approximately 50 minutes of music. Prerequisite: Senior status in Performance Studies

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Demonstrate technical skills requisite for artistic self-expression in performance at a level appropriate for the particular music concentration.

  • Apply an overview understanding of the repertory to performances from a cross-section of that repertory.

  • Demonstrate both general musicianship and a level of skill relevant to professional standards.

  • Construct artistic/intellectual goals that are evident in their work.

Attendance/Participation:

Attendance and Participation are graded components of this course. Students must take MUP 451–26 or MUP 452–26 concurrently.

Course Materials Purchased by the Students:

  • Students are required to purchase all digital/sheet music presented for performance/evaluation, and any equipment or accessories required for performance by the instructor. Photocopies of copyrighted material are not allowed.

  • Additional equipment required: Organ shoes (or a dedicated pair of regular shoes with the proper sole and shape). Shoes worn outside and around the building pick up grit and damage the organ pedals. Please consult with the instructor before buying shoes.
