Course Description
Basic concepts and techniques of audio recording, including microphones, microphone placement, recording techniques, editing and mixing. Final project is a professional-level recording of a small ensemble or band.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
Students will demonstrate basic understanding of microphones and salient equipment
Students will demonstrate understanding of acoustics and how they apply to audio recording
Students will practice audio recording in stages from single miking, stereo arrays, and multi-track settings
Students will understand basic principles of mixing audio they have recorded
