Course Description
Studio instruction for Music Education majors whose secondary instrument is piano. Prerequisite: MUP 133, or placement out of class piano; MEDU Major.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Expand on your previous skills at the keyboard, focusing on components used in music education settings and designed to fit the appropriate level of the individual taking the course.
- Develop skills in technique, music theory, sight-reading, repertoire, solo and accompanying performance skills, and musical interpretation.
- Perform in repertoire classes during the semester.
- Show commitment to this creative course of study, and fully engage in every aspect of learning.
- Prepare and demonstrate abilities to use a keyboard as an important teaching tool in a classroom, conducting a choir, teaching music classes, or working with individuals.

Attendance/Participation:
Regular class attendance is a responsibility and a privilege of university education. It is fundamental to the orderly acquisition of knowledge. Students should recognize the advantages of regular class attendance, accept it as a personal responsibility, and apprise themselves of the consequences of poor attendance. 0 out of 10 points will be assigned for the lesson if a student does not show up, and did not give prior notice.
