Choral Conducting II

Course Description

Supervised practice in conducting choral rehearsals; comparative study of rehearsal procedures and of choral objectives; continued study of choral repertory. Prerequisite: MUP 319 or permission of instructor

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Exhibit appropriate expressive gestures with the entire body to communicate musical intent in a variety of patterns and styles.
  • Analyze choral scores
  • Externally express internalized sound
  • Express basic understanding of rehearsal strategies
  • Relate conducting to a variety of different art forms
  • Employ self-analysis
