Attendance/Participation:
This class, like any other class in the Music Education Curriculum, requires you to be in class to gain the knowledge necessary to become an effective teacher. As a teacher in music, you are expected to know a lot, and repair is one of those things that you need to be knowledgeable about for your students and their parents. Similar to learning a musical instrument, the learning of instrument repair techniques is kinesthetic in nature, you learn only by being present and doing. Attendance is mandatory for this class, 1 point per class (30 points total). This includes being present for Final Project Presentation as well, and your final skills exam.
If you miss a lecture class, I can always send you a recording from a previous semester. E-mail me after you have done this to let me know you have, and I will give you credit for the class. However, again, please note, I am not recording current lectures, you will need to follow up with your classmates regarding updated material that might be new this semester so you don’t potentially miss something that may be on a quiz.
THERE WILL BE NO MAKEUPS GIVEN FOR MISSED LAB CLASSES UNLESS 3 TOTAL STUDENTS MISS THAT WEEK AND I AM INFORMED AT LEAST A WEEK AHEAD OF TIME. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE PRESENT AND/OR PLAN ACCORDINGLY!
