Please proofread your assignments for correct spelling and grammar before submitting. The timestamp in Canvas will serve as the official submission time.
If you are unable to meet an assignment deadline, please email the instructor at least 24 hours before the original due date and request a new due date. You must complete your work by the new due date. If you adhere to this guideline, you will receive full credit earned for your work. Otherwise, the final grade for the late work will be reduced by one letter grade for each day that it is late. Attendance/Participation:
The attendance expectation for this course is the same as it will be for you as a professional educator. Punctual, consistent attendance is expected for all class meetings.
You should miss no more than three scheduled classes during the semester for any reason. Please use these absences judiciously. Teaching episodes, the Final Presentation (on the Final Exam Day), and your Ukulele Day presentation must be completed on the scheduled day/time. Missed teaching episodes, the Final Presentation, and Ukulele Day cannot be made up unless compelling documentation is provided.
Three instances of tardiness are equal to one absence. If there is anything affecting your ability to attend class on time, please communicate with me immediately. All students will be penalized at the rate of +/- per absence upon the fourth absence. For instance, if you have an A- at the end of the semester and a total of 5 absences (two over the allowed number of absences), your final grade will be a B.
Course Materials Purchased by the Students:
Each student is required to supply a ukulele (soprano, concert, or tenor) with a case. Please no baritone ukuleles!
Moore Music Company located on 615 West Market Street provides UNCG students enrolled in this course a 15% discount for a ukulele, as well as a 20% discount for ukulele accessories with the purchase of a ukulele from their store.
