Course Description
Introduction to fiction filmmaking, using moving images and sound to convey stories and ideas. Emphasis is given to narrative conceptualization and technical skills. Prerequisite: MST 271 or permission of instructor.

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:
Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Explain the technical fundamentals of digital moving image photography & sound recording
- Evaluate and describe the conceptual and aesthetic qualities in given works of cinema
- Apply techniques of single camera video production to achieve desired aesthetics
- Employ production skills to conceive, write, photograph, and edit a short narrative video
- Collaborate successfully in a shared, creative learning community

Attendance/Participation:
You are allowed one unexcused absence without penalty. Every unexcused absence thereafter will result in 3 points off your final grade (out of 100)
Course Materials Purchased by the Students:
For this course, you will need to have your own external hard drive for editing as well as SD cards for video and audio media storage. Please note that high speed SD cards are necessary for recording HD and 4K video.
