Late Work, Extensions, and Extra Credit:

Late work is not accepted, and deadline extensions are not given. There is no extra credit in this course.

Attendance/Participation:

Attendance is 10% of the final course grade. Absences are not categorized as excused or unexcused; students are allowed five absences to use as needed. Exceeding five absences results in a zero for the attendance grade. Two tardies equal one absence, and leaving class early twice equals one absence. Students who arrive after attendance is called are considered late. Homework and participation account for an additional 10% of the final grade. Participation is measured through minor homework assignments and attendance and engagement on designated Writing Days.

Writing Day Participation:

Only students who are in class and arrive on time will receive additional participation credit on Writing Days. Students who are late or absent, regardless of the reason, will not receive additional participation credit. Students who leave early will not receive additional participation credit. Students who do not earn additional participation credit will see “Excused” in the Participation assignment category in the gradebook.

Course Materials Purchased by the Students:

None. Students are expected to have access to a computer and the Internet for this hybrid course, as well as basic note-taking supplies (notebook paper and pens and/or pencils), but no course materials are required to be purchased.
