Course Description
Businesses as a generic class of organization. Relation of individual worker and manager to organization and its impact upon them. Formal and informal groups. Management from behavioral point of view. Stability and change within business organizations. Prerequisite: Sophomore standing and Pre/Major in ACCT, BADM, CARS, CYBE, CYMA, ECON, ECOS, ENTR, FINC, HTMT, HURM, INTB, ISSC, or MKTG.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Understand what organizational behavior is and why it matters for organizations
- Explain and give examples of how personality, values, and motivation affect employees’ performance.
- Understand motivation in the workplace.
- Predict how perception and attribution affect the decision making process.
- Identify the stages of group development and explain the managerial responses appropriate to each stage.
- Demonstrate an understanding of interpersonal awareness by explaining different styles of conflict resolution and negotiation techniques.
- Provide an example of an ethical issue pertinent to leadership today.

Attendance/Participation:
Because this is an asynchronous course, there is no traditional attendance requirement. Students are expected to participate by completing all assignments, discussions, reflections, and other required course activities by the stated deadlines. Due dates are listed in the Course Overview document and on Canvas. Students are responsible for meeting these deadlines. The instructor reserves the right to modify course schedules or deadlines at their discretion, and any changes will be communicated through Canvas. Participation and timely completion of course requirements will be reflected in each students final course grade.
