Selected topics in international business presented by visiting faculty. Topics are related to the expertise of the instructor. Prerequisite: Major in ACCT, BADM, CARS, CYBE, CYMA, ECON, ECOS, ENTR, FINC, HTMT, HURM, INTB, ISSC, or MKTG.

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:
The purpose of this course is to introduce you to the unique issues of managing and working in the current global environment and with other-culture people.
Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
Module 1: Understand the global manager's environment
Identify the external forces underlying the transformation of multinational organization management practices, including the cultural, social, political, legal, economic, and technological consequences of managing across borders.
Illustrate ethical dilemmas and problems faced by top managers when entering and operating in foreign markets.
Module 2: Understand the cultural context of global management
Analyze and pinpoint specific dimensions of national culture.
Apply the concepts learned in the class to relevant international settings.
Module 3: Formulate and implement strategy for international and global operations
Evaluate the applicability of various theories and frameworks to a firm’s internationalization process.
Module 4: Manage global human resources
Demonstrate the ability to lead, follow, and work professionally with others.

Attendance/participation is not a graded component included in the student's final grade for this course.

REQUIRED: International Management, 10th edition by Helen Deresky Publisher: Pearson. (ISBN-13 978-0-13-589787).
Feel free to order the 9th edition. The 10th and the 9th editions cover exactly the same list of topics. The 10th edition contains updated statistics and new cases and examples, but as far as the core concepts, the changes are minimal. So for the latest information get the 10th edition, but if you want to save money, 9th edition will suffice.
However, please note you CANNOT use the global edition of this book.
