Course Description

Relationship of the library media program to the school curriculum; library/media and computer skills K-12 instructional program. Observation and practice in school settings.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Develop collaborative strategies to integrate information skills into the K–12 curriculum.
  • Apply national and state curriculum standards to design lessons and projects.
  • Design and deliver inquiry-based instruction and information skills learning.
  • Understand the professional role of the school librarian within the learning community.
  • Implement evidence-based assessment strategies for school library instruction.

Attendance/Participation:

Participation in synchronous sessions and discussion forums directly affects the participation grade. Extended absence may adversely affect the final course grade.
