Attendance/Participation:
Attendance, homework, and active participation are absolutely crucial for learning a language! You cannot expect to learn a language over 150 minutes a week, without additional work outside class.
Homework: Homework assignments listed on Canvas. Do work on a separate sheet of paper (not in your textbook), and try to complete it as best as you can—you will be graded on completion and effort rather than strictly by accuracy.
Attendance: I’ll drop four absences for any reason at the end of the semester; please note that I do not differentiate between “types” of absences, and do not need documentation.
Participation: Come to class prepared each day is a good start here; otherwise, participate by working in groups or pairs as assigned, answering questions when called upon in class, and being present and engaged in the material (i.e. paying attention, asking questions, writing notes).
