Theories and research related to sport psychology. Individual differences, motivation and social influence processes related to sport and exercise behavior. Prerequisite: Introductory psychology or permission of instructor.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
Describe key developments in the academic and professional discipline of sport and exercise psychology.
Compare foundational theories in sport and exercise psychology related to common factors and mental skills for optimal performance, promotion, and adherence.
Critique and synthesize sport and exercise psychology research.
Apply theoretical models and research findings to enhance sport, exercise, and physical activity experiences in kinesiology-related professional practice.
