Modern principles and practices in curriculum construction and current theories of curriculum development in Kinesiology.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Apply systematic design criteria to develop a curriculum responsive to community needs.
  • Integrate culturally relevant pedagogy and Universal Design for Learning principles.
  • Conduct needs assessments and comparative analyses for curriculum development.
  • Understand the roles of ALL stakeholders in developing curricula.
  • Align curriculum with current standards, policies, and technological tools.
  • Develop instructional and assessment strategies that promote fairness and engagement.
  • Develop a basic understanding of prominent theories of learning and their main assumptions.
  • Create sustainability and scalability plans for curriculum implementation.
