Course Description
Exploration of current research and issues within sport and exercise psychology; emphasis on developing a broad understanding of sport and exercise psychology scholarship and its relationship to Kinesiology. May be repeated for a total of 3 credit hours when topic varies. Notes: Grade: Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (S/U).

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
Critically evaluate current research in sport and exercise psychology.
Compare the different theoretical models/paradigms and research designs/approaches used in sport and exercise psychology.
Describe the scope of research topics and approaches in sport and exercise psychology.
Describe the relationship of sport and exercise psychology research and knowledge to the larger field of kinesiology

Weekly Assignments: Students will be expected to read assigned material and complete weekly assignments in preparation for topical discussion, and be an active participant in class discussions. | 50 points |
Student-Led Discussion/Presentations: Students will be assigned to critically review and lead discussion and/or presentations on 1-3 self-selected topic relevant to sport and exercise psychology during the semester. | 50 points |
