Course Description

Advanced study in special topics from the various subspecialties within the field of kinesiology.

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Synthesize theoretical, behavioral, and neurobiological evidence explaining how acute and chronic exercise influence cognitive function and brain health across the lifespan and in varied populations.
  • Critically evaluate exercise-and-cognition research, including its conceptual rationale, study design, measurement, analysis, findings, limitations, and strength of evidence.
  • Translate and communicate exercise-and-cognition evidence into well-supported conclusions and practical recommendations for research, educational, clinical, or community settings.

Attendance/Participation:

Students are expected to attend and/or participate in classes regardless of the format (face-to-face, virtual, hybrid, synchronous or asynchronous). Attendance in courses is not only a University expectation, but individual instructors may have increased expectations.

All late assignments will be given a zero. No exceptions.
