Course Description
History of Motor Behavior, an overview of motor control, skilled performance and proficiency and how the individual learns skills through practice/and or experience. Prerequisite: Grade of C- or higher in KIN 250 and KIN 291 (or BIO 271).

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Analyze definitions and concepts of motor learning and motor control.
- Devise assessments for various populations based on movement-skill guidelines.
- Evaluate scholarly literature to design effective tasks and interventions.
- Recognize classic paradigms in motor learning and motor control research.
- Appraise current trends and apply evidence-based approaches.
- Communicate effectively using written, oral, and visual formats.

Attendance/Participation:
Attendance is required. Students are permitted up to three unexcused absences. A fourth unexcused absence will result in failure of the course.
A student who misses a lab-assignment day involving group work will receive a zero for that lab assignment.
Participation is otherwise reflected through graded discussions and lab assignments as shown above.
