Clinical Human Physiology

Course Description

Introduction to basic concepts of human physiology at the cell, organ and systems levels with a focus on clinical applications related to physiological systems relevant to the allied health sciences. Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C- in BIO 110 or BIO 111; Corequisite: KIN 292L.

Syllabus

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Describe basic human cell structure/function
  • Describe the function of human organs
  • Explain the interactions of organs in different physiological systems
  • Comprehend the manner in which the human organism is dependent upon the appropriate function and interaction of physiological systems
  • Explain how disruptions of specific organs / systems in the human can lead to disease and illness
