Clinical Human Anatomy Laboratory

Course Description

In-depth anatomical examination of the human body for students seeking clinically-applied careers in Health and Human Sciences. Includes laboratory activities. Corequisite: KIN 291.

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Apply proper standard anatomical reference nomenclature and terminology.
  • Identify structures of the human skeletal, nervous, muscular, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, genitourinary, endocrine and integumentary systems.
  • Describe the functions of the human skeletal, nervous, muscular, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, genitourinary, endocrine and integumentary systems.
  • Identify the anatomical structures and their orientation within each body region (e.g., head and neck, thorax, abdomen and pelvis, back, upper limb and lower limb).
  • Apply the significance of the structures to health, exercise, injury and disease.

Attendance/Participation:

Attendance will be taken at the start of class. This may be done by a QR check-in, a quiz, or some other sign-in method.

Students arriving late and missing the quiz, should see instructor after class to be marked “tardy” rather than “absent”. 6 absences will result in an automatic lowering of your grade by one letter (A becomes a B). 2 tardies equal to 1 absence. Attendance will be tracked on Canvas. Students should continue to monitor their attendance throughout the semester. The only excused absences are University sanctioned absences. There is NO virtual option.

Lab Attendance is mandatory. Exit tickets are due during the lab period and must be submitted before you leave for credit. 2 absences will result in an automatic lowering of your grade by one letter (A becomes a B).
